Argentines are obsessed with pop/soda. They never have a meal without pop and will always look at me funny if I ask for water. In several of my classes the secretaries always ask me if I would like a cappuccino or coffee and I always ask for water so I have become the weird water boy foreigner. Anyways, here is the list of our favorite gaseosas/pop. Our favorite brand is h20h! Branded as the drink with just the right amount of gas h2oh! Is a nice soft drink. Although I don't think it is very healthy it still taste healthier than coke, plus it has no sugar or caffeine so it is almost like drinking sparkling cider. It is also cheap, 16 pesos ($1.50) will get you a two liter bottle. We never miss a meal without our h2oh!

Buenos Aires has some really nice parks. Considering it is such a large and crowded city it is pretty impressive the amount of park space the city has. The Palermo parks are a great place to walk and somewhat "escape" from the city.
Tourist advice
During the weekends the parks can get crowded, so it is best to go during the week, unless you like to share the park with thousands of other argentine families trying to escape the crowded city.

Turn on the tv and it's hard not to find a channel with a World Cup countdown. Are they counting down to the start of the World Cup, the first game between Brazil and Mexico? Noooo they are counting down to Argentinas first game, the World Cup starts and ends with Argentina. Im really excited to be in this country where the whole country rallies around their team and the excitement for the World Cup is palpable. I just hope Argentina makes it to the final and therefor the whole country will be happy and cheerful. I fear that if Argentina does lose, everyone will lose interest and be extremely grumpy. That is the pompous some what arrogant attitude of the argentine people.
If Argentina does make it to the final it might be crazy to go downtown and watch the game on the big screen, it would probably be like Madrid when Spain won. I can't imagine the celebration. They say that it was a wild fun happy celebration in 1978 and 1986. Hopefully 2014 will be their year.
They even have soccer themed deodorant. I wonder if iniesta uses it?

I don't know what to say on these blog post, we went to puerto madero, walked around looked at the water and buildings and walked and walked, I'm becoming a good walker, I guess that's healthy, although walking around buenos aires there are so many people smoking I kind of feel like I've smoked a couple of cigarets. Anyways I'm thinking about starting an anti-tobacco movement in buenos aires, that and an anti-littering campaign. The trash here is crazy, I've seen lots of people just through papers, trash on the ground or out the train window or behind the train platform. I'm not sure how much success I would have but I want to take some pictures of the trash. Anyways this is puerto madero, a nice area with nice restaurants and now they have build several tall apartment buildings and is where supposedly a lot of wealthy argentines live.
We toured a boat for 5 pesos.
